1. Project Overview
The HOB2HOOD system is an automation solution for kitchen range hoods, controlled by infrared signals from an induction hob. It manages fan speeds and lighting automatically or via remote control.
2. Hardware Requirements

Microcontroller: Arduino UNO R3 (ATmega328P) – Fully supported.

Display: OLED SSD1306 (128x32 px), I2C communication (Address 0x3C).

Sensor: DHT11 (Temperature & Humidity).

IR Receiver: TSOP 17xx series (e.g., TSOP1738).

Relays: 7-channel relay module (Active LOW logic).
3. Key Improvements in v2.1.3

Custom DHT Implementation: Replaced the standard library to save 3000 bytes of Flash memory.

OFF Time Delay (Menu 10): Adjustable fan overrun (0–9 minutes) after the hob is turned off. The display dims during the countdown.

Independent Priority: Manual switches and IR signals work independently (e.g., manual light + automatic fan).

Watchdog Timer: Automatic system recovery within 8 seconds in case of software failure.

Critical Requirement:
IRremotelibrary MUST be version 3.9.0. Newer 4.x versions are incompatible and larger. -
Memory Usage: Flash 97% (31,300 bytes), RAM 68% (1,400 bytes).
6. Troubleshooting

Display showing NaN: Check the DHT11 wiring or move the sensor away from relay interference.

IR Not Responding: Verify the IRremote library version and TSOP sensor power.

Blank OLED: Check the I2C address (0x3C) and wire continuity on pins A4/A5.
